概要

What is Iota Agent Mcp?

Iota Agent Mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, ChatGPT) to interact directly with the IOTA network. It provides 18 tools across three categories: wallet operations, CLI and Move smart contract management, and on-chain data querying.

How to use Iota Agent Mcp?

Install globally via npm install -g iota-agent-mcp. Then configure an MCP client by adding a server entry with the command iota-agent-mcp (for Claude Code) or npx iota-agent-mcp (for Cursor / VS Code) in the respective settings JSON file. Optional environment variables configure the local agent-wallet server (IOTA_WALLET_SERVER), JSON-RPC endpoint (IOTA_RPC_URL), and GraphQL indexer (IOTA_GRAPHQL_URL).

What runtime does Iota Agent Mcp require?

It is a Node.js package installed via npm and run as a stdio-based MCP server. A local agent-wallet server (default http://localhost:3847) must be running for wallet operations.

How are transactions signed?

Wallet operations proxy to a local agent-wallet server with a human-in-the-loop approval flow. The MCP server supports approving or rejecting pending signing requests.

What endpoints does the server connect to?

By default it connects to IOTA JSON-RPC at https://api.mainnet.iota.cafe and IOTA GraphQL at https://graphql.mainnet.iota.cafe, both configurable via environment variables.

Where does data live?

The MCP server is stateless. Wallet credentials and signing state reside in the separate agent-wallet server. On-chain queries fetch data from public IOTA fullnodes and indexers.

What transport does it use?

It communicates with AI agents over MCP via stdio. Outbound connections to the wallet server, JSON-RPC, GraphQL, and the local iota CLI are made over HTTP or process execution.
