概要

What is eCFR MCP?

A free MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants read the FAR, DFARS and agency supplements in the eCFR: clause text, definitions, and what changed and when. Built by a federal contracting officer for small businesses, capture teams and proposal writers.

How to use eCFR MCP?

Hosted: add https://ecfr.1102tools.com/mcp as a custom connector in your AI assistant. Nothing to install and no API key. It is also in the Claude and ChatGPT directories.

Local: run uvx ecfr-mcp. No API key needed.

Use cases of eCFR MCP

  • Pull the current text of a FAR or DFARS clause
  • See what changed in a FAR part since a given date
  • Look up how the FAR defines a term

FAQ

Is it free? Yes. Open source (MIT), with no accounts or ads.

Where does the data come from? Public eCFR (Electronic Code of Federal Regulations) data.

Which clients work? Any MCP client that supports remote servers (hosted) or local servers (local).
