概要

What is WhatsApp MCP by TimelinesAI?

WhatsApp MCP by TimelinesAI gives your AI assistant access to your team's real WhatsApp inbox in TimelinesAI. Ask which chats need a reply, who has waited longest or what a customer asked last week, then reply, react, label, open or close chats and assign them to teammates, without opening the inbox.

Every action runs as you, with your role's permissions, and uses the same messaging quota as the TimelinesAI app. It works with regular WhatsApp numbers connected by QR code and with WhatsApp Business API numbers, including approved message templates.

How to use it?

  1. Start a TimelinesAI account (10-day free trial, no credit card) and connect a WhatsApp number.
  2. Add TimelinesAI to your AI assistant. It's a hosted remote server (Streamable HTTP), so there's nothing to install: https://mcp.services.timelines.ai/mcp. Install it from your assistant's plugin or app directory where available, or add the URL as a remote server. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http timelinesai https://mcp.services.timelines.ai/mcp. Setup for each assistant: https://timelines.ai/whatsapp-mcp
  3. Sign in with your TimelinesAI account (OAuth). No API keys.
  4. Ask in plain language, for example: "What needs me today?"

Can it send messages? Yes, as you, from your own WhatsApp numbers, using your normal messaging quota. WhatsApp Business API template messages are charged by Meta.

Is there a sandbox? No. It works on your real inbox, so try it on your own number first.

Is it open source? The docs and client configs on GitHub are MIT-licensed. The server is hosted by TimelinesAI.
