概要

What is UCloud MCP Server?

UCloud MCP Server is a cloud instance management server built on MCP-Go and the UCloud SDK. It enables UCloud instance management through the MCP (Model Context Protocol) protocol, allowing users to query instance information, list instances, get status, and monitor performance metrics. It is intended for users with a UCloud account and API credentials.

How to use UCloud MCP Server?

Clone the repository, install dependencies with go mod download, build with go build -o ucloud-mcp-server, then run the binary. Use the --config flag to specify a configuration file path and --port to set a listening port (default 8080). The service communicates via standard input/output over the MCP protocol.

Key features of UCloud MCP Server

  • Query instance information and status
  • List all instances in your account
  • Monitor CPU utilization and disk I/O metrics
  • Support for configuration file and environment variables
  • MCP protocol support with standard I/O
  • Go-based, lightweight and easy to build

Use cases of UCloud MCP Server

  • Retrieve detailed information about a specific UCloud instance
  • Monitor real-time CPU and disk performance of running instances
  • List all instances in your account for inventory management
  • Check instance operational status for health monitoring
  • Integrate UCloud instance management into MCP‑compatible workflows

よくある質問

1

What are the configuration methods?

The server supports two methods: a configuration file (`config.json`) with `region`, `project_id`, `public_key`, and `private_key`; or environment variables `UCLOUD_REGION`, `UCLOUD_PROJECT_ID`, `UCLOUD_PUBLIC_KEY`, `UCLOUD_PRIVATE_KEY`. File takes priority over environment variables.

2

What credentials are required?

You need a UCloud account with API credentials: a public key and a private key, along with your project ID and desired region. Keep these credentials secure.

3

How do I run the server with a custom port?

Use the `--port` flag when starting the server, e.g., `./ucloud-mcp-server --port 9000`.

4

What monitoring metrics are available?

The server provides CPUUtilization (%), disk metrics (IORead, IOWrite, DiskReadOps, DiskWriteOps), and network metrics (NICIn, NICOut, NetPacketIn, NetPacketOut).

5

Is there any delay in monitoring data?

Yes, monitoring data may have a few minutes delay.
