What is Presto MCP Server by CData?

Presto MCP Server by CData is a read-only Bridge between Large Language Models (such as Claude Desktop) and live Presto data. It wraps the CData JDBC Driver for Presto, exposing Presto tables as SQL models through the Model Context Protocol so LLMs can answer natural‑language questions without writing SQL.

How to use Presto MCP Server by CData?

Clone the repository, build the JAR with Maven (mvn clean install), download and license the CData JDBC Driver for Presto, generate a JDBC connection string using the driver’s GUI utility, create a .prp property file with your connection details, and add the server to your client’s config (e.g., claude_desktop_config.json). The server runs over stdio and must be on the same machine as the client.
