What is Mixpanel MCP?

Mixpanel MCP is a simple MCP server that interfaces with the Mixpanel API, allowing you to query events data, retention, and funnels from any MCP client like Cursor or Claude Desktop. It is designed for on-demand analytics lookups such as “What’s the weekly retention for users in the Feb 1 cohort?”

How to use Mixpanel MCP?

Install via Smithery or by cloning the repository. You need a Mixpanel Service Account username, password, and project ID. For Claude Desktop, run npx -y @smithery/cli install @dragonkhoi/mixpanel-mcp --client claude. For Cursor, use the command npx -y @smithery/cli@latest run @dragonkhoi/mixpanel-mcp --config with a JSON object containing your credentials. Alternatively, clone the repo, run npm run build, then execute node /ABSOLUTE/PATH/TO/build/index.js USERNAME PASSWORD PROJECT_ID.
