Tools

  • Format and compare: JSON and XML formatting, SQL beautification, and text/JSON diffs.
  • Convert data: YAML to/from JSON, CSV to/from JSON, JSON to TypeScript, naming conventions, and number bases.
  • Encode and inspect: Base64, URL encoding and parsing, HTML entities, JSON escaping, JWT decoding, and certificate inspection.
  • Generate: UUIDs, passwords, mock datasets, and QR codes. Calculate hashes without asking the model to invent them.
  • Work with infrastructure data: CIDR calculations, cron explanations and next run times, Unix timestamps, and chmod permissions.
  • Check schemas and colors: Validate JSON against a schema, infer schemas from sample data, convert color codes, and check contrast ratios.

All 28 tools are discoverable through MCP, with input schemas your assistant can use to construct calls. Results are returned as JSON-formatted text.

The endpoint is hosted and stateless, so there is no local process to install or keep running.

Data handling

MCP tool calls run server-side: the inputs you provide are sent to dot.tools for processing. Our MCP usage telemetry records the request method, tool name, client name/version when provided, and timestamp. This telemetry does not include tool inputs or outputs; records older than 90 days are deleted daily.
