You need Python 3.10 or higher, Poetry for dependency management, and a Todoist account with an API token.

Go to Todoist settings → Integrations → Developer to generate your API token.

How do I configure it for Cursor AI?

Create or edit the file at `C:\Users\<username>\.cursor\mcp.json` (Windows) or the equivalent on Linux/macOS, adding the server command, arguments, and environment variable `TODOIST_API_TOKEN`. After saving, Cursor Settings → MCP should show a green dot when the server is running.

What filter strings does the get_tasks_tool support?

The tool accepts any valid Todoist filter query, such as `"today"`, `"overdue"`, `"due before: May 5"`, `"no date"`, `"recurring"`, `"5 days"`, and priority numbers 1–4.

Does TaskMaster currently support creating or completing tasks?

No. The current version only provides the `get_tasks_tool` for task retrieval. Task creation, completion, deletion, and other features are planned for future releases.
