Instant access to electronic component datasheets for AI agents — specs,

Overview

What is Sheetsdata MCP?

Sheetsdata MCP is an MCP server that gives AI agents instant, structured access to electronic component data — specs, pinouts, package dimensions, absolute max ratings, application circuits — extracted directly from manufacturer datasheets. It is built for hardware engineers who want their AI assistant to read datasheets without manual PDF handling.

How to use Sheetsdata MCP?

Sign up at sheetsdata.com/signup, create an API key in the dashboard, then add the MCP config block to any MCP-compatible AI tool (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code Copilot, etc.). The config uses the URL https://mcp.sheetsdata.com/mcp with an Authorization header containing your Bearer token. No SDK or additional integration work is required.

Key features of Sheetsdata MCP

  • Read any datasheet section — pinouts, electrical characteristics, package info
  • Search for components by specs, not just part numbers
  • Compare parts side by side using real datasheet specs
  • Validate design conditions against datasheet limits
  • Find drop-in replacement parts by package and specs
  • Analyze datasheet images (graphs, package drawings) with vision AI

Use cases of Sheetsdata MCP

  • PCB layout — get pin assignments and package dimensions without leaving the editor
  • Firmware development — AI reads register maps, clock limits, and peripheral specs while you code
  • BOM review — look up every part, check stock and lifecycle, suggest alternatives automatically
  • Part selection — define requirements, search candidates, compare specs, validate fit in one conversation
  • Design review — check every component against its operating conditions to catch out-of-spec parameters

FAQ from Sheetsdata MCP

How does Sheetsdata differ from manually searching datasheets?

Sheetsdata gives AI agents structured, queryable access to datasheet intelligence — specs, comparisons, and validations — without needing to download, scroll, or parse PDFs. Your AI can ask for a specific spec or compare parts immediately.

Do I need to install additional software or an SDK?

No. Just add the MCP configuration block to your MCP-compatible AI tool. No SDK, no plugins, no integration work required.

Where does the datasheet data come from?

Data is extracted directly from manufacturer datasheets for millions of electronic components. You can also upload proprietary datasheets for private parts, which are scoped to your organization.

How is authentication and transport handled?

Sheetsdata uses an HTTP MCP transport over HTTPS. Authentication is done via a Bearer token in the Authorization header, using an API key created in the dashboard.

Are there any costs or usage limits?

Free credits are included when you sign up. Full pricing details are available at sheetsdata.com/pricing.
