About PosterMyWall MCP Server

PosterMyWall MCP Server is PosterMyWall's hosted, read-only MCP endpoint. It gives an AI assistant one tool, search_templates, that finds designs in the PosterMyWall template gallery by keyword and returns links that open each template in PosterMyWall for editing. No sign-in or API key is needed to connect.

PosterMyWall MCP Server tools

1

Search the PosterMyWall template gallery by keyword and return a grid of matching designs. Read-only — it can ONLY find and open templates. Use whenever the user wants to find, browse, or see designs or ideas. Do NOT use it for requests the app cannot fulfill, even if a design is mentioned in passing: account/billing/payment/refund issues, printing/shipping/ordering, or how-to/support questions about using PosterMyWall or its editor — answer those directly without searching.

Overview

What is PosterMyWall MCP Server?

PosterMyWall MCP Server is the hosted PosterMyWall MCP endpoint that lets Claude and other AI assistants search the PosterMyWall template gallery by keyword and hand you links that open matching flyer, poster and social post designs in PosterMyWall.

PosterMyWall is a design and marketing platform for small and local businesses: free design templates, social publishing, email, event pages and ticketing in one place. The MCP server covers one part of that, template discovery. It is read-only and has a single tool. You describe what you need ("a flyer for our Saturday farmers market"), the assistant searches, and you pick a template to customize in the PosterMyWall editor. Designs cannot be edited inside the chat.

How to use PosterMyWall MCP Server?

The server is public. There is no account, sign-in or API key involved in connecting. The endpoint is:

https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp

It uses the Streamable HTTP transport. PosterMyWall does not publish a setup page for these clients, so the steps below are the standard remote-server formats each client documents.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http postermywall https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp

Run /mcp inside Claude Code to confirm the server is connected.

Claude Desktop and claude.ai

Open Settings > Connectors, choose Add custom connector, enter a name such as PosterMyWall and the URL https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp, then click Add. No authentication settings are needed. Enable the connector in a new chat.

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json or a project's .cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "postermywall": {
      "url": "https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

Add it to .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "postermywall": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

PosterMyWall also publishes the same template search as an app in ChatGPT, listed as "Find design templates".

Key features of PosterMyWall MCP Server

  • Hosted by PosterMyWall: nothing to install, no keys in your config.
  • Keyword search across the PosterMyWall template gallery: flyers, posters, invitations, menus, social posts and more.
  • Each result is a link to the template's preview page on postermywall.com, where you can open the editor and customize the design manually or with PosterMyWall's AI tools.
  • Read-only by design: the server can only find and open templates. It cannot edit designs, place orders or touch your account.
  • Works in clients that render MCP app interfaces, where results appear as a visual grid of designs. Plain-text clients get a numbered list of links instead.
  • Supports follow-up searches such as "show more" or "something more colorful", which the server's instructions treat as new searches.

PosterMyWall MCP Server tools

The server exposes one tool:

  • search_templates takes a keyword and returns a set of matching PosterMyWall designs. In our test, the query "birthday flyer" returned 10 templates, each as a titled link to its template page.

The tool description tells the assistant what is out of scope. It should not search for account, billing, refund or login questions, for printing, shipping or ordering, or for how-to and support questions about the PosterMyWall editor. The assistant answers those directly or points you to PosterMyWall support.

Use cases of PosterMyWall MCP Server

  • Event promotion: "Find me a poster template for a jazz night at our cafe next Friday."
  • Small business marketing: "Show me Instagram post templates for a bakery's weekend sale."
  • Seasonal campaigns: "I need Halloween party flyer ideas, something spooky but not gory."
  • Menus and signage: "Find restaurant menu templates with a clean, modern look."
  • Narrowing a style: after a first grid, "more like the second one, but in blue" runs a refined search.
  • Planning, then designing: brainstorm an event with the assistant, then ask it to find matching flyer and social post designs to open in PosterMyWall.

Troubleshooting PosterMyWall MCP Server

  • The assistant tries to edit a template in chat: it can't. Open the template link and make changes in the PosterMyWall editor.
  • No image grid appears: your client does not render MCP app interfaces. The results come back as a list of links, which work the same way.
  • Billing or account questions return nothing useful: the server only searches templates. Use PosterMyWall's help center for account and order issues.
  • Connection errors: make sure the URL includes the /mcp path and that the client is set to the HTTP (Streamable HTTP) transport, not stdio.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is the PosterMyWall MCP Server official?

Yes. It is hosted by PosterMyWall at `mcp.postermywall.com`, and the server identifies itself as `pmw-mcp`. Template links point to postermywall.com.

2

Do I need a PosterMyWall account or API key?

Not to connect or search. The endpoint accepts anonymous connections. To save or download a design you work on in PosterMyWall, you will need a PosterMyWall account, which can be a free one.

3

Can the AI edit the design for me?

No. The server only searches and opens templates. Editing, including PosterMyWall's own AI design tools, happens in the PosterMyWall editor after you open the link.

4

Is it free?

Searching templates through the MCP server costs nothing and needs no plan. PosterMyWall's own free and paid options apply when you download or publish a design.

5

Does it work with Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code?

Yes. Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the URL. Visual grids depend on the client; coding tools usually show the results as links.

6

What can I search for?

Anything you would search for in the PosterMyWall gallery: event flyers, posters, invitations, menus, logos, social media posts and other marketing designs, by keyword.

7

Is my data shared with PosterMyWall?

The tool receives the search keyword your assistant sends. It does not read your PosterMyWall account, because the connection has no sign-in. Template links include a `utm_source=mcp` tag that identifies the visit as coming from the MCP server.

8

What is the PosterMyWall remote MCP server?

The PosterMyWall remote MCP server is a hosted Model Context Protocol endpoint at https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp, so AI assistants can connect to it without installing or running anything locally.

9

How do I connect to the PosterMyWall MCP server?

Add the endpoint https://mcp.postermywall.com/mcp to any MCP-compatible client such as Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code. The setup snippets on this page configure each client in one step.

10

Does the PosterMyWall MCP server require authentication?

Authentication requirements for PosterMyWall have not been confirmed in this listing. Check the provider’s documentation before connecting.

11

Which transport does the PosterMyWall MCP server use?

PosterMyWall exposes a streamable-http endpoint, the transport used by remote MCP servers and supported by all major MCP clients.
