Ask to make a different connected company the one changes are written to. Reading needs no switch. This changes nothing on its own: show the person the answer and only continue if they say yes.
Switch to the company named in an approved proposal. Only call this after the person has agreed to that exact switch.
Get a link the person opens to connect ANOTHER, NOT YET CONNECTED Fortnox company to this connection. This is only for adding a company. It is NOT the page for seeing or managing the existing connection: if the person asks which companies are connected, what the connection may do, how to stop changes, how to remove access, or how to invite a colleague — in Swedish often "min anslutning", "anslutningssidan" or "bjud in" — read get_connected_company and give them its connection_url instead.
Get a link the person opens to download a document as a file: an invoice, offer or order as PDF, an SIE export, or a file already in their Fortnox archive or inbox. The same link also exports ANY list, summary or computed view as an Excel workbook (.xlsx): pass a list operation (e.g. InvoiceController_doIndex with query_params filter=unpaid, optionally summarize) or a computed view ("more:kundtopplista", "more:aldersanalys_kund", …) and the person gets the table as a file, one sheet per table in the answer. Give them the link — the file itself never passes through this conversation. Use list_fortnox_operations with access "document" to see which documents exist. Put _companies: "all" (or a comma-separated list of company keys) in query_params to get one link per connected company in a single call — "the SIE file for every client".
Read the contents of a Fortnox document yourself: the text of an invoice, offer or order PDF, a file from the archive or inbox, or an SIE export. Use this when YOU need to check what a document says. Use get_fortnox_document instead when the PERSON should download the file. A scanned document with no text layer is refused rather than answered with emptiness, and never state a figure you did not read. One document at a time is for one document. To check supplier invoices against their attachments, use read_fortnox with operation_id more:underlagskontroll (from_date/to_date) — every invoice against its file in one call, bank giro included. To read the files in an inbox folder, use more:las_underlag (mapp or ids). A bank statement in camt.053 format comes back as rows — date, amount, direction, counterparty, reference — not as XML. That file is the only way to see the bank entries at all: Fortnox has no API for them. It holds every entry for the period, which is not the same as Fortnox own list of unbooked transactions, so compare against vouchers and payments before calling anything unbooked, and say the comparison is yours.
USE THIS whenever the person says they have a receipt, an invoice, a document or a file that should go into the bookkeeping. If the person attached the file(s) in this chat and your client can pass files to tools (ChatGPT can), pass them in files: they are placed straight into this company's Fortnox inbox or archive, and the answer says what arrived. Otherwise leave files out: the tool returns a link the person opens, and the file goes from their own machine straight into Fortnox. A chat attachment you only read yourself cannot become the document behind a voucher — it has to be uploaded one of these two ways.
Find supported live operations. Request operation_id to get that operation's parameters and a flat guide to its request body fields.
Read one validated Fortnox operation for the authenticated company. Lists return one page; continue pagination for complete totals. A long list does not have to come back in full: fields returns only the columns you name, and summarize has the server group and total the rows for you — with summarize.all_pages it reads every page itself and says how many it covered. Use them for questions about a whole year or a whole ledger; a plain read of that size is refused as too large. If your saved copy of this tool has no fields/expand/summarize parameters, pass them inside query_params instead, as _fields ("Number,Description"), _expand ("true"), _group_by ("Booked" or "VoucherRows[].Account"), _sum ("Total,Balance") and _all_pages ("true"). They mean exactly the same thing and never reach Fortnox. expand: true opens every record in the list on the server and gives you the full record instead of the list row — the only way to reach line level, since a voucher's rows and a supplier invoice's rows are not in the list and Fortnox cannot filter on them. Combine it with summarize to answer questions about postings: group_by may follow a path into the lines, such as "VoucherRows[].Account", and then count is lines while records is how many documents those lines came from. Never open records one at a time in a loop; that is what expand is for.
Same read as read_fortnox, but the answer is shown in the chat as an interactive chart and table when the client supports it. Use it for questions where a picture helps: trends, rankings, ageing, forecasts, per-customer or per-account totals. Works with summarize (group_by/sum), with the computed views (operation_id "more:kassaprognos", "more:kundtopplista", "more:aldersanalys_kund", "more:resultatrakning", "more:nyckeltal", "more:avvikelser" …) and with _companies=all for every connected company at once. The answer also carries a chart description you can draw yourself if nothing is shown.
Prepare a Fortnox change and return the exact request that would be sent, without sending anything. Show the result to the person and only continue if they approve that exact content. An operation that cannot be undone, such as crediting or cancelling a document, also needs confirm: true and comes back marked irreversible. Several changes at once: pass batch (up to 25 items, each with its own operation_id, idempotency_key and body) instead of a single change; the answer is a table with one row per change and one approval per row, to be approved together.
Send to Fortnox the exact change the person already approved in the conversation. Nothing new is decided here, and nothing is changed beyond what the proposal showed. Pass the approval_token and idempotency_key from propose_fortnox_write. Never call this twice for the same approval, and never after WRITE_AMBIGUOUS. For a batch proposal pass batch (the approvals list from the proposal): the changes are sent one by one, in order, and the answer says which were applied; on the first failure the rest are left unsent.
Find out what happened to a write that ended as ambiguous. This reads Fortnox; it never sends the change again.
List the writes recorded for this company, newest first, including any that are still unresolved. Fifty at a time; use offset when has_more is true.
