Overview

What legivel does

HTML to PDF is a pain. Your agent writes its reports in Markdown. To turn one into a PDF, you run a headless browser and keep the print styles working after every update. Printed from a browser, the report has no contents page with page numbers. Diagrams are often left as code. legivel turns the same Markdown into a typeset PDF with one tool call. The reader gets a contents list with page numbers, and the diagrams are drawn as vector art. The formulas come out as real math, and a long table repeats its header row on every page.

Invoices and packing slips from templates

Invoices and packing slips bring a second problem. An order has five line items or fifty. The template you fill today cannot take a varying number of line items. Then the export to PDF breaks the layout. With legivel, you lay out the document once in the template editor, with fields where the data goes. Each invoice is then one tool call. Your JSON fills the fields, and a list or CSV fills the table, one row per item. Starters include an invoice and a shipping label.

We generate the PDF in memory and never store the documents you convert or your PDFs. Templates you save are the exception: they are stored encrypted until you delete them.

Diagrams and charts come in 33 kinds, and barcodes in 21 types including QR. You set the page size and the page setup. Fonts cover 24 writing systems, and hyphenation works in 69 languages. PDF/A and PDFs tagged for screen readers are there on request.

Tools and access

Your MCP client calls the server's ten tools with an API key from your account. If your client supports MCP sign-in, it signs in to that account instead. render_pdf takes your Markdown and returns the PDF. render_template fills a saved template with your data and returns the PDF. preview_template shows pictures of a saved template's pages, and get_template_format gives the template format reference. get_usage reports how many documents the account has used in the period. Five more list, read, create, update and delete templates, so your agent can design a template on its own.

Plans

A free account makes 100 documents a month and keeps 3 saved templates. Paid plans add volume, more templates and seals: a certificate-based digital signature with your own certificate. It is not open source.
