Overview

Kilobat

Kilobat gives AI agents and humans a toolkit for understanding a Mac’s network. The open-source CLI and local MCP server bring network diagnostics, Wi-Fi and hotspot checks, traffic monitoring, and keep-awake controls together.

Ask your agent why an API won’t connect, check whether you’re on a hotspot before a large download, or inspect the connection from the terminal.

Install

brew install seifip/kilobat/kilobat

Add the local MCP server to Claude Code or Codex:

claude mcp add kilobat -- kilobat mcp
codex mcp add kilobat -- kilobat mcp

For other MCP clients, use command kilobat with argument mcp. Source and setup: https://github.com/seifip/kilobat-cli

The CLI is GPL-3.0 licensed; the Kilobat Mac menu-bar app is a separate product.
