Dynamics CRM MCP Server by CData

@CDataSoftware

This project builds a read-only MCP server. For full read, write, update, delete, and action capabilities and a simplified setup, check out our free [CData MCP Server for Dynamics CRM (beta)](https://www.cdata.com/download/download.aspx?sku=RMZK-V&type=beta).

Overview

What is Dynamics CRM MCP Server by CData?

This is a read-only MCP server that allows LLMs to query live Dynamics CRM data via natural language, powered by the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics CRM. It exposes Dynamics CRM as SQL relational models through a simple MCP interface.

How to use Dynamics CRM MCP Server by CData?

Clone the repository, build with Maven (mvn clean install), then download and license the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics CRM. Create a .prp file with your JDBC connection details and add the server to your MCP client (e.g., Claude Desktop) by editing the claude_desktop_config.json. The server runs on stdio and must be on the same machine as the client.

Key features of Dynamics CRM MCP Server by CData

  • Read-only access to live Dynamics CRM data
  • Natural language querying via MCP interface
  • Built on the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics CRM
  • Supports all tables and columns from the data source
  • Easy integration with Claude Desktop and other MCP clients

Use cases of Dynamics CRM MCP Server by CData

  • Answer ad‑hoc business questions about CRM data without writing SQL
  • Analyze correlations between closed‑won opportunities and account industries
  • Generate live insights from Dynamics CRM tables using natural language

FAQ from Dynamics CRM MCP Server by CData

Is this server read-only?

Yes, this project builds a read-only MCP server. For full CRUD and action capabilities, see the separate CData MCP Server for Dynamics CRM (beta).

What are the runtime requirements?

Java (for the JAR), Maven (for building), and the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics CRM. The server uses stdio transport, so it must run on the same machine as the MCP client.

How do I configure the connection?

Create a .prp file with properties such as DriverPath, DriverClass, JdbcUrl, and optionally Tables. Obtain the JDBC URL using the driver’s connection string utility.

Which tables are available?

By default, all tables from the Dynamics CRM data source are accessible. You can restrict access by setting the Tables property in the .prp file.

How do I troubleshoot connectivity issues?

Verify the connection string using the JDBC driver’s utility, ensure the driver is licensed, and fully restart your MCP client (e.g., quit Claude Desktop completely) after adding the server configuration.
