How do I get my Exotel API token?
Encode your Exotel API key and secret (colon-separated) in Base64 format. You can use online tools or command-line `base64` on Mac/Linux or PowerShell on Windows.

Exotel Mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that integrates Claude AI with Exotel’s communication APIs for SMS and voice calling services, plus quick audio tools. It is intended for developers using Claude Desktop who need to manage Exotel messaging and calling through natural language commands.
Install the mcp-remote package globally, then add the Exotel MCP server configuration to your Claude Desktop settings (Settings → Developer → Edit Config). Provide a Base64-encoded API token and other Exotel credentials in the env block. Once configured, you can ask Claude to send SMS, make calls, check status, or use audio tools in natural language.
Encode your Exotel API key and secret (colon-separated) in Base64 format. You can use online tools or command-line `base64` on Mac/Linux or PowerShell on Windows.
You need: a Base64 token, a registered Exotel from number, DLT template and entity IDs, a caller ID, an account SID, your Exotel subdomain, and your Exotel dashboard base URL.
You must have the latest Claude Desktop app, Node.js and npm installed, an active Exotel account with API credentials, and the `mcp-remote` package installed globally.
The server must be hosted on a public domain with HTTPS enabled. A Docker deployment with an optional Nginx reverse proxy is provided in the README.
Authentication uses a token-based system. All Exotel credentials are stored in the Claude Desktop configuration and are securely processed by the server when making API calls.
