MCP SERVER is a Model Context Protocol server that provides weather, currency exchange, and news tools. It is designed for use with Claude Desktop, allowing the AI to fetch real-time data by city name, currency pair, or topic. The server is written in Python using the official MCP SDK.
Clone the repository, install uv, create a virtual environment, and add mcp[cli] and httpx dependencies. Then configure claude_desktop_config.json with the correct path to main.py and run uv run main.py via the Desktop client. Integration with Claude Desktop is automatic after configuration; simply ask for weather, exchange rates, or news.
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector python main.py.It provides three tools: weather (by city), currency converter (between any two currencies), and news (last 7 days, by topic/source).
Claude Desktop. The server is configured via its `claude_desktop_config.json` file.
Clone the repository, install `uv`, create a virtual environment, add `mcp[cli]` and `httpx`, then configure the `claude_desktop_config.json` to point to the project directory.
Yes, use the MCP Inspector: run `npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector python main.py` from the project directory.
Python, `uv`, and the `mcp[cli]` and `httpx` packages are required. The server runs locally via command-line execution.
