ShopSignal is an MCP server that gives AI agents live access to any DTC (direct-to-consumer) fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brand's catalog, prices, new drops, and price history via four tools. It is built for shoppers, brand operators, and researchers who want competitor intelligence without manual browsing or scraping setup.

How to use ShopSignal?

Add it to Claude Desktop via the claude_desktop_config.json using npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server with your Apify token. For Cursor, paste the Streamable HTTP endpoint https://mcp.apify.com?actors=kodek/shopsignal-mcp as a new MCP server with a Bearer token. Custom agents can use the same standard MCP transport. After setup, ask questions like "What's on sale at Glossier?" or "Compare prices across brands for a white slip dress."

Is using ShopSignal legal?

Yes. It only accesses /products.json, a public, documented Shopify endpoint that stores deliberately expose. No login walls or ToS violations.

Can I use ShopSignal for my own store's data?

It works, but Shopify’s Admin API is better for private data like orders and customers. ShopSignal is designed for competitor intelligence on stores you don’t own.

What is the rate limit?

Apify handles rate limiting transparently. Practical limit is about 1,000 store snapshots per hour per user.

What stores does ShopSignal support?

Currently 84 verified Shopify-powered DTC brands across beauty, women’s fashion, men’s fashion, and lifestyle (e.g., Glossier, Cuyana, Skims). It does not support marketplaces, non-Shopify platforms, or stores with enterprise bot protection. Non-Shopify stores return a clear error.

How do I add a store not in the seed list?

If the store is Shopify-powered, query it once and ShopSignal automatically detects it, returns results, and adds it to the daily snapshot rotation. Non-Shopify stores are not supported in v1.
