Mel – the agentic terminal is a multi-agent, multi-model agentic terminal for Mac, Windows, Linux and VS Code. It is free with your own API key; your model provider bills its own usage.

Mel is an MCP host. Its agent can use MCP servers that run on your computer (stdio) or on the web (Streamable HTTP). Settings ▸ Library lists featured servers Mel has tested, each at the version Mel tested: Playwright, Chrome DevTools, Context7, Docker, Terraform, Grafana and Kubernetes. Every server starts off until you turn it on, and every MCP tool call stops for your approval. Add your own server by pasting an mcpServers JSON block, or in ~/.mel/mcp.json (or /.mel/mcp.json for a project). Keys for featured servers go to your keychain, never into a server's command line.
