What is ServiceNow MCP Server by CData?

ServiceNow MCP Server by CData is a read-only MCP server that lets LLMs like Claude Desktop query live ServiceNow data using natural language. It wraps the CData JDBC Driver for ServiceNow, which exposes ServiceNow as relational SQL tables, so no direct SQL is required.

How to use ServiceNow MCP Server by CData?

Clone the repository, build the JAR with mvn clean install, install and license the CData JDBC Driver for ServiceNow, then create a .prp file with your connection details. Configure Claude Desktop by adding the server to claude_desktop_config.json with the path to java and the JAR along with the .prp file. The server uses stdio transport and must run on the same machine as the client.
