What is MCP Server Manager?

MCP Server Manager is a Visual Studio Code extension that lets you install and manage Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for Claude and other LLM clients. It provides a server catalog, multi-configuration support, and tools to enable, disable, and configure installed servers. It is intended for developers using Claude Desktop or VS Code Cline with MCP servers.

How to use MCP Server Manager?

Install the extension from the VS Code Marketplace, then click the MCP icon in the activity bar. Use the “Add Config File” button to add your Claude Desktop or VS Code Cline configuration files. Browse available servers by clicking “Browse Available Servers,” select a category, choose a server to install, and pick which config files it should be added to.
