概览

The official Model Context Protocol server from Porkbun, maintained by Porkbun. It gives AI assistants and agents direct, safe access to your Porkbun account.

What it can do

  • Domains: check availability and pricing, register, renew and transfer domains, and see renewal dates
  • DNS: create, edit and delete records, change nameservers, manage glue records and DNSSEC
  • Safety nets: preflight a risky change to see what would break, and roll a DNS zone back to an earlier restore point
  • Hosting: set up Porkbun Secure Static Hosting and deploy a site straight from your assistant
  • More: URL forwarding, domain contacts, webhooks, and domains connected to your own Cloudflare account

Two ways to connect

Hosted (no install, no API key). Add https://mcp.porkbun.com/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT or any client that supports remote MCP servers. You sign in with your Porkbun account and approve access.

Local. Run it with npx and your API keys:

  npx -y @porkbunllc/mcp-server

Set PORKBUN_API_KEY and PORKBUN_SECRET_API_KEY. Create keys in your Porkbun API settings.

Built for agents

  • Writes are idempotent, so a retry never double-charges or double-applies
  • Billable and destructive operations support a dry run first
  • Money is always integer cents, in parameters named ..._cents
  • Every error carries a stable code and a suggested next step
  • Tools are annotated read-only or destructive, so clients ask before risky changes

Your account stays in control

Only domains you opt in to API access can be managed. Each connection is its own API key that you can limit to specific domains or revoke at any time. Purchases spend prepaid account credit, and you can set a monthly spend limit.
