It also publishes the Board and Stable Boarding Price Index, the median monthly boarding rate nationally and in each state, computed from rates that barns publish themselves. FAQ from Board & Stable?

Where does the data come from? Facilities' own published listings on Board and Stable. Prices are the monthly rates barns publish, not survey responses.

How are the price figures computed? Medians rather than averages, so a few premium barns cannot move the headline. Rates under $150 a month are excluded as day rates. A state with fewer than 8 published rates gets no median. Method: https://www.boardandstable.com/boarding-cost/methodology

Can I run this server? Not yet. It requires database access. A remote version is under consideration. —
