Send a fax now from one or more files — provide either shareable file links (`fileUrls`) or, for a LOCAL file, `uploadIds` from `request_upload_url`: the files are attached to a new draft and the fax is sent in one step. To fax an on-device file: call request_upload_url, PUT the bytes to the returned URL, then call this with uploadIds. Use send_fax_using_draft to send a draft you already saved, or create_draft to save without sending. The top-level `recipient` (with fax number) is required — that's the destination. The `coverPage` is OPTIONAL: omit it to send with no cover sheet; include it to prepend one (subject/message, optional sender defaults to the signed-in account). Returns fax status plus media/thumbnail URLs and sender/recipient details.

Send a fax from a draft you already saved, identified by draftId. Use send_fax to send directly from file URLs without saving a draft first. The top-level `recipient` (with fax number) is required — that's the destination. The `coverPage` is OPTIONAL: omit it to send with no cover sheet; include it to prepend one (subject/message, optional sender defaults to the signed-in account). Returns fax status plus media/thumbnail URLs and sender/recipient details.

List completed faxes — received (inbox) or sent — with search, status/date filters, and pagination. For unsent drafts use list_drafts instead. Use when the user wants to browse or find faxes already sent or received.

The provided files REPLACE all current files (they are not appended), and this tool changes files only — not sender/recipient info. Use create_draft to start a new draft.

Get a short-lived signed URL to upload a LOCAL (on-device) file so it can be faxed — the reliable way to fax a file that isn't already hosted online. Flow: (1) call this with the file's name + MIME type; (2) PUT the file's bytes to the returned uploadUrl using the given Content-Type header; (3) call send_fax or create_draft with uploadIds: [uploadId]. The bytes upload directly to storage (not through this server), so the file is never altered. For files already at a public, directly-downloadable HTTPS URL, skip this and use fileUrls instead.

Check only the delivery status of one fax by faxId. Use when the user asks whether a fax was delivered or wants to track it; use get_fax for the fax's full details.

Resend a fax that previously failed to deliver, by faxId. Use when a sent fax failed and the user wants to retry.

What is Faxify MCP?

Faxify MCP is the hosted MCP server for Faxify, an online fax service for the United States and Canada. It gives AI assistants 18 tools to send faxes from uploaded PDFs, Word files or images (with an optional cover page), save and preview drafts, track delivery status, resend failed faxes, and read received faxes. Connect over streamable HTTP at https://mcp.faxify.com/api/v1/mcp with OAuth 2.1 — ChatGPT and Claude connectors discover it automatically — or use the @faxify/mcp-client stdio bridge for Cursor and Claude Desktop. It's included on every Faxify plan, including the free plan (5 pages a month). Faxify is not HIPAA compliant, so don't send protected health information through it.
