What is DataBR?

DataBR is an MCP server that provides a comprehensive API for Brazilian public data, enabling AI agents to access over 122 endpoints across domains like economy, companies, markets, government transparency, legal, and environment. It uses the x402 protocol for automatic on-chain payments in USDC on the Base network — no registration or API key required.

How to use DataBR?

Install the Python SDK with pip install databr and initialize it with a wallet private key that has USDC on Base. Alternatively, add the MCP server URL https://databr.api.br/mcp to your MCP client (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to get 170+ tools. What is the x402 protocol?

x402 is a payment protocol that allows AI agents to automatically pay for data on-chain. The server responds with a 402 Payment Required status, the agent sends a payment in USDC on Base, and then retries with the payment header.

How much does each query cost?

Prices range from $0.003 for basic queries (Selic, IPCA, company data) to $0.150 for composite analyses like portfolio risk. Adding ?format=context costs an extra $0.002 per query.

What are the rate limits?

Rate limits are 100 requests per minute per IP and 500 requests per minute per x402 wallet.

Is there a testnet available?

Yes. Initialize the SDK with network="testnet" to use Base Sepolia and test USDC.

What data sources are covered?

DataBR aggregates data from 42 automatic collectors and 8 on-demand sources, including BCB, IBGE, B3, CVM, TSE, Portal da Transparência, TCU, Câmara/Senado, ANVISA, ANEEL, and others.
