Currency Converter x402 is an MCP server that converts between fiat currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY) and cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, SOL) using ECB exchange rates for fiat and CoinGecko for crypto. It charges a micropayment per call via the x402 protocol (USDC on Base L2) with no API key or signup required. It is part of the klymax402 marketplace of 100+ x402 micropayment APIs for AI agents.

How to use Currency Converter x402?

Add the server URL https://currency-converter.api.klymax402.com/mcp to your MCP client config (Claude Desktop, Cursor, ElizaOS, etc.). Alternatively, call the HTTP endpoint /api/convert with amount, from, and to parameters; an x402-aware client handles the payment challenge automatically. The only tool is finance_convert_currency.

Fiat rates come from the European Central Bank (ECB); crypto rates come from CoinGecko. The `rateSource` field in the response indicates which source was used.

What is not supported?

This server does not provide market data or charts, DeFi swap quotes, or wallet balances. For those, separate klymax402 tools are available.

Do I need to install any client software?

Any x402-aware HTTP client (e.g., `@x402/fetch`, `x402-agent-tools`, ATXP) will handle the payment challenge automatically. For MCP, add the URL to your client config as shown in the quickstart.
