An MCP server implementation for retrieving information from Pinecone Assistant. It allows users to query a Pinecone Assistant using their Pinecone API key and Assistant host.
Deploy with Docker using the provided image and set the required environment variables (PINECONE_API_KEY). Optionally, set PINECONE_ASSISTANT_HOST. Build from source with Rust if preferred. Integrate with Claude Desktop by adding a Docker-based configuration to claude_desktop_config.json. Test using the MCP inspector.

You need Docker installed, a Pinecone API key from the Pinecone Console, and the Pinecone Assistant API host (found after creating an Assistant). Building from source requires Rust.
It uses `PINECONE_API_KEY` (required), `PINECONE_ASSISTANT_HOST` (optional, defaults to `https://prod-1-data.ke.pinecone.io`), and `LOG_LEVEL` (optional, defaults to `info`).
Build the Docker image with `docker build -t pinecone/assistant-mcp .` then run with `docker run -i --rm -e PINECONE_API_KEY=<key> -e PINECONE_ASSISTANT_HOST=<host> pinecone/assistant-mcp`.
Add an entry to `claude_desktop_config.json` with the command `docker run -i --rm -e PINECONE_API_KEY -e PINECONE_ASSISTANT_HOST pinecone/assistant-mcp` and pass the environment variables via the `env` object.
