What is Sun MCP?

Sun MCP is an MCP server for Agent session summarization. It automatically summarizes current sessions in Claude Desktop and saves them as structured .mdc files when you input the -sun command.

How to use Sun MCP?

Install via npx -y sun-mcp@latest, add it to your Claude Desktop MCP configuration, then restart Claude Desktop. In a chat, type -sun to generate a Chinese summary, or -sun en to generate an English summary.

Summary files are automatically saved to the `.sun` folder in your project root, with filenames like `20241208_143022_MCP_Server_Development.mdc`.

What format do the summary files use?

Each `.mdc` file contains structured markdown with sections for session overview, core essence, key points, outcomes, and next steps.

Does Sun MCP track task completion?

Yes, it automatically determines whether a session is completed, partially completed, failed, or ongoing.

Does Sun MCP support other languages besides Chinese?

It supports English by appending `en` to the command (`-sun en`). The default language is Chinese.
