Bitbucket MCP Server by CData is a read-only Model Context Protocol server that enables large language models like Claude Desktop to query live Bitbucket data using natural language. How to use Bitbucket MCP Server by CData?

Clone the repository, build the JAR with mvn clean install, download and license the CData JDBC Driver for Bitbucket, create a .prp file with your JDBC connection string, then configure the server in your AI client’s MCP settings (e.g., claude_desktop_config.json). Run the server using java -jar CDataMCP-jar-with-dependencies.jar path/to/bitbucket.prp. The server communicates via stdio.

This is a read-only MCP server. For full read, write, update, delete, and action capabilities, use the separate CData MCP Server for Bitbucket (beta).

Requires Java and Maven for building, plus the CData JDBC Driver for Bitbucket installed and licensed.

How is data transported?

The server uses stdio transport, so it can only be used with clients running on the same machine.

How do I configure authentication?

Use the CData JDBC Driver’s Connection String utility to set up OAuth or other credentials, then copy the resulting JDBC URL into the `.prp` file.

By default, all tables are exposed. You can limit tables in the `.prp` file using the `Tables` property.
