What is Zendesk MCP Server by CData?

Zendesk MCP Server by CData is a read-only Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets LLMs like Claude Desktop query live Zendesk data using natural language. It wraps the CData JDBC Driver for Zendesk, exposing the data as SQL tables accessible through MCP tools.

How to use Zendesk MCP Server by CData?

Clone the repository, build with mvn clean install, download and install the CData JDBC Driver for Zendesk, license it, use the connection string builder to configure OAuth or other credentials, create a .prp file with the JDBC settings, then configure Claude Desktop’s claude_desktop_config.json to point to the built JAR and the .prp file. The server uses stdio transport and runs on the same machine as the client.

What are the runtime requirements?

You need Java, Maven, and the CData JDBC Driver for Zendesk (download from CData website). The driver must be licensed (a trial key is available).

The data stays in Zendesk. The MCP server queries live data over the network using the JDBC driver – it does not store a local copy.

How is authentication handled?

Authentication is configured via the CData JDBC Driver’s connection string builder, which supports OAuth flows. You generate the connection string there and copy it into the `.prp` file.
