What is Vid Kraken?

Vid Kraken is a YouTube download API with a remote MCP server. Send a YouTube URL and get back a direct download link to the finished MP4 or audio file. Bot detection, proxies, cookies and retries are handled server-side, so there is no yt-dlp setup to maintain. Over the last 30 days it completed 99.99% of more than 2.5 million downloads (live figures).

What you can do

• Download YouTube videos as MP4 at 360p, 480p, 720p or 1080p (4K on request)
• Extract audio as MP3 (320 kbps), AAC (M4A) or the original stream
• Cut clips by start and end time without downloading the whole video
• Pick a dubbed audio track by language
• Look up metadata: title, duration, chapters and available audio languages

create_clip	Download a video or a clip (start/end in seconds) as audio, audio-mp3, 360, 480, 720 or 1080; returns a job id
get_clip_status	Poll a job; when done, returns the format, file size and a download link (valid ~12 hours)
get_account_usage	Your plan and remaining balance (free to call)
