Overview

What is SonarQube?

The SonarQube MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables seamless integration with SonarQube Server or Cloud for code quality and security. It also supports the analysis of code snippets directly within the agent context.

How to use SonarQube?

Use the SonarQube MCP Server Configuration Generator at mcp.sonarqube.com/config-generator.html or manually configure your AI agent client with the Docker image sonarsource/sonarqube-mcp. Set environment variables for authentication: SONARQUBE_TOKEN is required; for SonarQube Cloud add SONARQUBE_ORG, for SonarQube Server add SONARQUBE_URL. Configuration examples are provided for Antigravity, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot coding agent, and Kiro.
