Overview

What is Signal8?

Signal8 is an MCP server that gives Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients direct access to SEC filing intelligence for US-listed stocks. It reads filings and turns them into structured data: dilution instruments, insider and institutional ownership, congressional trades, compliance status and market data. Dilution figures are cited to the SEC filing they were read from.

How to use Signal8

Local (npx): add the config from the Config tab and set SIGNAL8_API_KEY.

Remote: connect to https://mcp.signal8.ai/mcp with Authorization: Bearer sk_live_.... Clients that support MCP OAuth (for example Claude custom connectors) can sign in with a Signal8 account instead of using a key.

API and MCP access are included with Signal8 Pro. Create a key at https://signal8.ai/developer/api-keys.

Key features

  • Dilution analysis: warrants, convertibles, preferred stock, shelf registrations, ATMs, equity lines and S-1 offerings
  • Dilution Pressure Score: 0 to 100, built from seven components (shelf capacity, ATM capacity, warrants in the money, convertible proximity, cash burn, historical dilution, toxic financing)
  • Baby shelf capacity: the S-3 I.B.6 one-third-of-float cap, recomputed from the live float
  • Cash runway: cash position, monthly burn and capital raised since the last balance sheet
  • Ownership: insider transactions, cluster buys, institutional holdings and position changes
  • Political trading: congressional and executive-branch trades, committees, votes and FEC campaign-finance data
  • Market data: quotes, financials, earnings, float, short interest, halts, reverse splits and premarket scanner
  • SEC EDGAR: filing search, full-text search, documents and exhibits
  • Free learning tools: Signal8 Academy guides and a glossary that work without an API key
