Overview

What is Signal Six MCP Server?

Signal Six MCP Server is the remote MCP endpoint for Signal Six, a competitive intelligence service. It lets Claude and other MCP clients answer questions about what your competitors shipped, repriced or changed, with the page and date behind every move.

Signal Six watches competitor pages and posts on a schedule, scores each change against your company's strategy, and keeps a dated history of your market. The MCP server doesn't search the open web. It reads the record Signal Six has already built for your company: scored competitor moves, reports, a market map and your company profile. The endpoint is https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp, and access is scoped to your company through OAuth sign-in.

How to use Signal Six MCP Server?

You need a Signal Six account. Sign-up is closed for now while the team works hands-on with a small group of companies. Access starts with a call, and Signal Six says it connects Claude or ChatGPT live during that call. Our probe of the endpoint returned 401 with OAuth discovery and dynamic client registration, so clients only need the URL. You sign in in the browser with the email you use for Signal Six, then approve access.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http signal-six https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and sign in. Signal Six confirms that Claude Code is supported this way.

Claude Desktop and claude.ai

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Signal Six and paste https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp.
  3. Click Connect next to Signal Six, sign in and approve.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once under Admin settings. Everyone else only signs in.

Cursor

In ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "signal-six": {
      "url": "https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

In .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "signal-six": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

In both editors the browser opens for sign-in on first connect. Signal Six also documents setup for ChatGPT and Codex at signalsix.ai/connect/chatgpt.

Once you're connected, try asking: "What did our competitors change this week?"

Key features of Signal Six MCP Server

  • Cited answers. Every competitor move Claude reads carries the page it happened on and the date Signal Six observed it.
  • Scored signals. Moves are weighed against your company's strategy, so you can search them, open one, or count them by competitor, category, importance or month.
  • Reports read back in full. Your 90-day reports are listed and readable in full, including the executive summary, openings and risks, and a deep dive on each competitor.
  • Market map. The companies in your market, what each sells, what it costs, its capabilities, its customers and what changed, with every fact dated.
  • Your profile as the lens. Your company and strategy shape every alert and report.
  • Mostly read-only. The only thing Claude can change is your company profile. A change starts as a preview, and saving it is a separate step.
  • Per-person sign-in. Each person connects their own Claude with their own account. When you leave the company, access ends with your Signal Six account.

Use cases of Signal Six MCP Server

  • Weekly catch-up: "What moved this week?" returns the scored moves, newest first, each with its source page and date.
  • Pricing checks: "How does Acme price its Pro plan?" uses plans and prices from the market map as each company publishes them.
  • Head-to-head comparison: "Compare us and Acme, capability by capability," built from the capabilities each company shows on its own pages.
  • Report review: "What does our quarterly report say about Acme?"
  • Market structure: "Who buys from whom, and where does each company play?" draws on the customers, markets and segments on record.
  • Strategy refresh: "Refresh our strategy against last quarter." A packaged skill reads the quarter's moves against your profile and proposes a rewrite. Nothing is saved until you approve it.

Troubleshooting Signal Six MCP Server

  • The client gets 401 and no sign-in page: the endpoint requires OAuth. Use a client that supports MCP OAuth, or add the server as a custom connector in Claude.
  • Sign-in fails: sign in with the same email you use for Signal Six. Without an account you can't connect. Sign-up is closed, so book a call with Signal Six first.
  • Claude Code shows the server as needing authentication: run /mcp and complete the browser sign-in.
  • Team members can't see the connector: on Claude Team or Enterprise, an owner has to add it under Admin settings first.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is Signal Six MCP Server official?

Yes. The endpoint `https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp` is run by Signal Six and documented on its [Connect to Claude](https://signalsix.ai/connect/claude) page.

2

Does it work in Claude Code?

Yes. Signal Six says to add the server from your terminal, then sign in from `/mcp`.

3

Can I sign up and use it today?

Not self-serve. Sign-up is closed while Signal Six works hands-on with a small group of teams. You book a call, and the team connects Claude or ChatGPT live with you.

4

Can Claude change anything in Signal Six?

Only your company profile. A change starts as a preview, and saving it is a separate step. Everything else is read-only.

5

Where does the intelligence come from?

From the public pages and posts your competitors publish, re-read on a schedule. Each claim is cited to the page observed and the date it was observed. Signal Six labels a read as thin when it rests on a weak signal.

6

Will my competitors see what I track?

No. Signal Six builds the market map only from public pages. Your profile, your strategy and what you react to stay private to your company.

7

What does it cost?

Signal Six doesn't publish a price. It says there's no per-seat billing and walks you through pricing on the call.

8

What is the Signal Six remote MCP server?

The Signal Six remote MCP server is a hosted Model Context Protocol endpoint at https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp, so AI assistants can connect to it without installing or running anything locally.

9

How do I connect to the Signal Six MCP server?

Add the endpoint https://signalsix.ai/api/mcp to any MCP-compatible client such as Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code. The setup snippets on this page configure each client in one step.

10

Does the Signal Six MCP server require authentication?

Yes. Signal Six uses OAuth: the first time you connect, your MCP client opens a browser window to sign in and authorize access, then reuses the credentials for future sessions.

11

Which transport does the Signal Six MCP server use?

Signal Six exposes a Streamable HTTP endpoint, the transport used by remote MCP servers and supported by all major MCP clients.
