Overview

What is SheetsFinance?

SheetsFinance is an add-on for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel that puts live and historical financial data into spreadsheet cells through formulas like =SF("AAPL"). It covers quotes, 30+ years of financial statements, ratios, dividends, analyst estimates, ETF holdings, technicals and news for 87,000+ assets across 60+ exchanges, plus US options data and read-only brokerage sync.

The SheetsFinance MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants build finance spreadsheets that stay live, because every value comes from a SheetsFinance formula rather than pasted numbers.

Tools

  • model_catalog and get_model: list published models (DCF valuation, WACC, Graham number, DuPont, growth, earnings, ETF analysis, dividend and total return calculators, watchlists, portfolio trackers) and hand one over with your ticker filled in.
  • workbook_plan and create_workbook: plan validated SheetsFinance formulas for a custom request, then build a new workbook around them.
  • function_describe: the exact argument, metric and option contract for any SheetsFinance function.
  • docs_list, docs_search and docs_get: search and read the SheetsFinance documentation.

Connect

Add https://data.sheetsfinance.com/mcp as a custom connector (Streamable HTTP). The first time it connects, your client opens sheetsfinance.com to sign in with a SheetsFinance account. New users can start a 15-day free trial with no card required.

Example prompts:

  • "Build me a DCF model for NVDA in Google Sheets."
  • "Make an Excel dividend tracker for my portfolio of SCHD, O and KO."
  • "What's the SheetsFinance formula for Apple's quarterly revenue?"
