A deployment template and guide for running a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on Cloudflare Workers with OAuth login support, intended for developers who want to host MCP tools accessible over the internet.
Clone the repository, install dependencies with npm install, and run locally with npx nx dev remote-mcp-server. Deploy to Cloudflare by creating a KV namespace (npx wrangler kv namespace create OAUTH_KV), updating wrangler.jsonc, and running npm run deploy. Connect clients (MCP Inspector, Claude Desktop) via the SSE endpoint (e.g., http://localhost:8787/sse or the deployed workers.dev URL).
mcp-remote proxy.Clone the repository, run `npm install`, then execute `npx nx dev remote-mcp-server`. The server will be available at `http://localhost:8787/`.
Create a KV namespace with `npx wrangler kv namespace create OAUTH_KV`, add its ID to `wrangler.jsonc`, and run `npm run deploy`.
Start the inspector with `npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector`, set Transport Type to "SSE", and enter the server’s SSE URL (e.g., `http://localhost:8787/sse` for local).
Edit the Claude Desktop configuration file (`mcpServers` section) to add an entry with `"command": "npx"` and `"args": ["mcp-remote", "<server-url>/sse"]`. Restart Claude Desktop.
Use `npx mcp-remote <server-url>/sse` on the command line to test connectivity. If needed, clear cached OAuth files with `rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth`.
