A template for running a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on Cloudflare Workers, complete with OAuth login. It provides local development, deployment, and integration with MCP clients like Claude Desktop and the MCP Inspector.
Clone the repository, install dependencies with npm install, and run locally with npx nx dev remote-mcp-server. Deploy to Cloudflare using npx wrangler kv namespace create OAUTH_KV and npm run deploy. Connect clients by pointing them to the server’s /sse endpoint.
Clone the repo, run `npm install`, then `npx nx dev remote-mcp-server`. Open `http://localhost:8787/` in your browser.
Start the inspector with `npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector`, set Transport Type to SSE, and enter `http://localhost:8787/sse` as the URL. You’ll be redirected to a mock login screen.
Edit Claude Desktop’s configuration file and add an entry with `"command": "npx"`, `"args": ["mcp-remote", "http://localhost:8787/sse"]`. A browser window will open for login.
Run `npx wrangler kv namespace create OAUTH_KV` and add the namespace ID to `wrangler.jsonc`, then run `npm run deploy`.
Restart Claude, try connecting via command line with `npx mcp-remote http://localhost:8787/sse`, or clear `~/.mcp-auth` with `rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth`.
