What does Serveur MCP pour n8n do that n8n alone doesn’t?
It adds a validation layer for workflow best practices and automates the generation of NextJS integration code (routes, OpenAPI docs, TypeScript types) directly from n8n workflows.

Serveur MCP pour n8n is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that provides tools for validating n8n workflows against best practices and generating NextJS integrations for those workflows. It is intended for developers and automation engineers using the n8n automation platform.
Clone the repository, install dependencies with pnpm install, copy .env.example to .env and fill in your n8n API connection details, then build with pnpm build and start with pnpm start. For Claude Desktop, configure the MCP server in claude_desktop_config.json pointing to the compiled dist/server.js.

Node.js v16 or higher, pnpm v7 or higher, and an n8n instance (local or remote, e.g., hosted at n8n.bienquoi.com).
All data lives on the configured n8n instance. The MCP server communicates with the n8n API; it does not persist workflows locally except for generated output files in the `output/` directory.
The server uses the MCP protocol and connects to n8n’s REST API using credentials stored in a `.env` file. It is designed for local or trusted network use; no advanced authentication mechanisms are described.
It is open source under the MIT license.
