TranscriptMagic is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI assistants generate transcripts from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook videos. It is hosted at https://mcp.transcriptmagic.com/mcp, uses OAuth 2.0 (Sign in with Google) for authentication, and charges 1 credit per transcript (new accounts get free credits).

How to use TranscriptMagic?

Connect any MCP-compatible client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, etc.) to the server URL https://mcp.transcriptmagic.com/mcp. On the first tool call, the client will open a browser window for OAuth sign-in. No installation is required.

How do I authenticate with the server?

The first tool call opens a browser window to sign in with Google via OAuth 2.0. No manual token configuration needed.

Which video platforms are supported?

YouTube (watch, youtu.be, Shorts), TikTok, Instagram (reel, post, TV), and Facebook (watch, fb.watch, reels). Public videos only.

How much does it cost?

Each transcript costs 1 credit. get_credit_balance and list_recent_transcripts are free. New accounts receive free credits to try the server.

Where are transcripts stored and how is privacy handled?

Transcripts are saved to your account history (deletable from the dashboard). The server only accesses videos you explicitly send via tool calls.

What are the technical requirements?

No installation required. Uses Streamable HTTP transport (fallback SSE at https://mcp.transcriptmagic.com/sse). Works with any MCP-compatible client.
