Overview

What is Machina?

Machina provides AI agent services that you pay for per call in USDC on Base — no API keys, no subscriptions. This MCP server wraps all 8 Machina endpoints so any MCP-compatible host (Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.) can use them automatically.

How to use Machina?

  1. Install: pip install machina-mcp
  2. Fund an Ethereum wallet with a few dollars of USDC on Base
  3. Add to your MCP client config with your wallet key
  4. Ask your AI to use any Machina tool — payments happen automatically

How payments work

Your agent calls a tool → the MCP server hits Machina → Machina returns a 402 with the exact USDC amount → the server signs and sends payment using your wallet key → Machina verifies on-chain and returns the result. The agent never sees any of this.

A $5 balance covers ~1,000 URL extractions.

Frequently asked questions

1

Do I need crypto experience?

No. Generate a wallet key with one Python command, send it a few dollars of USDC from Coinbase, and you're set.

2

What network are payments on?

Base (Coinbase's L2). Gas fees are fractions of a cent.

3

Is there a free tier?

`pdf_inspect` (page count + metadata) is free. All other tools are pay-per-call.
