What is Leadbay MCP Server?

The Leadbay MCP Server connects your AI assistant to your Leadbay account so you can work leads in plain language. You can pull scored leads, research and qualify companies, draft outreach and log activity. It is Leadbay's official, open-source hosted server, and you sign in with OAuth.

Leadbay is a lead-qualification platform for sectors with little data or signal, such as construction, hospitality, professional services, manufacturing and healthcare. Its own description is "Qualified leads for agentic workflows." Each day Leadbay delivers a fresh batch of scored leads against your target profile. The MCP server lets an assistant act on that real data with your permissions, just as you would in the app. The server source lives at github.com/leadbay/mcp.

How to use Leadbay MCP Server?

You need a Leadbay account. Per Leadbay's pricing page, MCP access in Claude and ChatGPT is included in the More and Much more plans. The hosted endpoint is https://mcp.leadbay.app/mcp (Streamable HTTP). It serves every region, and /fr/mcp remains a compatibility alias. Leadbay's README names two client-specific URLs:

• ChatGPT: https://mcp.leadbay.app/chatgpt/mcp. It is the same server, but without the top-up and billing tools, which the OpenAI app directory does not allow.
• Other assistants (GitHub Copilot / VS Code, Goose, Cursor and others): https://mcp.leadbay.app/apps/mcp. On these clients, today's leads can open as the Lead Triage Board in the chat.

Sign-in happens in your browser. You sign in with Leadbay, click Approve, and the server handles OAuth. There are no tokens to copy.

Claude Desktop and claude.ai

Go to Settings → Connectors → + → Add custom connector. Use Leadbay as the name and https://mcp.leadbay.app/mcp as the URL, then open the connector and click Connect. Leadbay also ships a one-click .dxt desktop extension on its GitHub releases page.

Run /mcp to complete the browser sign-in. Another option is the Claude Code plugin marketplace (/plugin marketplace add leadbay/mcp, then /plugin install leadbay@leadbay-mcp). It registers the server and installs Leadbay skills.

Guided installer

For local clients (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex), Leadbay's installer opens a browser wizard. You sign in, then pick which assistants to connect. It requires Node.js 22+:

The README documents both reading tools and write tools (for example leadbay_pull_leads, leadbay_research_lead_by_id, leadbay_bulk_qualify_leads and leadbay_report_outreach). It notes that write tools are on by default since version 0.3.0, and that deletes are confirm-gated.

Troubleshooting Leadbay MCP Server

• Billing or top-up actions missing in ChatGPT: On the /chatgpt/mcp URL, the assistant can't generate a top-up link or open the billing page. Buy credits or change your plan in your Leadbay account instead.
• No account to sign in with: You need a Leadbay account before setup. Create one at Leadbay first.
• Want read-only behavior: For the local npm package, set LEADBAY_MCP_WRITE=0 to disable write tools.
• Removing Leadbay from local clients: Run npx -y -p @leadbay/mcp@latest installer --uninstall. It only removes Leadbay entries.
