About Genchi MCP Server

Genchi shows engineering leaders a prediction of which projects are heading for a missed deadline and which aren't, from the people doing the work. Giving every engineer a way to be heard, this prediction comes from their anonymous, one-click confidence vote in response to a regular, automated Slack prompt. Those votes are combined by project into a single score, tracked over time, so leaders can spot projects in trouble sooner and step in where needed, and, more importantly, know which teams to leave alone. Team members benefit too: visibility into how their teammates view the project and how the teams they depend on are doing, and less time and effort spent on status reporting. The MCP connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or any MCP-compatible assistant show your project portfolio, confidence trends and blockers as interactive views in chat. Requires a Genchi account (free for teams of up to 10); sign in with OAuth. Each user sees only the projects they're part of, and no vote is ever attributed to a name.

Overview

What is Genchi?

What the connector does

The Genchi MCP connector brings that project delivery prediction into your AI assistant. It is an MCP App as well as an MCP server: two of its tools draw interactive views inside the conversation.

  • Portfolio view: every project as a color-coded card, with work nested beneath it.
  • Confidence view: one project's confidence chart, its individual (unattributed) votes, blockers and recent comments.

Tools

  • List initiatives: renders the portfolio, or a tree of one project and everything under it.
  • Get confidence: the confidence score and its trend for one project, with the confidence chart.
  • Get blockers: current blockers, and who raised them.
  • Get weekly summary: what changed this week.
  • Create initiative: set up a new project.
  • Slack connection status: check whether Slack is connected, and how to finish setup.

Example questions

  • "Which of my projects should I be worried about this week?"
  • "How is the payments migration tracking?"
  • "Where is confidence dropping week over week?"
  • "What's blocking the platform rebuild, and who raised it?"
  • "Show me everything under the platform program."

Privacy by design

  • No tool ever returns a name alongside a confidence vote. Individual values are shuffled on every response.
  • Each user connects their own account and sees only the projects they own, work on or observe.
  • Users can revoke their own connection at any time; admins can revoke any connection in their company.

Frequently asked questions

1

What is the Genchi remote MCP server?

The Genchi remote MCP server is a hosted Model Context Protocol endpoint at https://genchi.com/api/mcp, so AI assistants can connect to it without installing or running anything locally.

2

How do I connect to the Genchi MCP server?

Add the endpoint https://genchi.com/api/mcp to any MCP-compatible client such as Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code. The setup snippets on this page configure each client in one step.

3

Does the Genchi MCP server require authentication?

Yes. Genchi uses OAuth: the first time you connect, your MCP client opens a browser window to sign in and authorize access, then reuses the credentials for future sessions.

4

Which transport does the Genchi MCP server use?

Genchi exposes a Streamable HTTP endpoint, the transport used by remote MCP servers and supported by all major MCP clients.
