Is the Devart Learn MCP server official?
Yes. Devart documents the `https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp` endpoint in its own support knowledge base and lists Devart Learn in the Claude Connectors Directory.
@Devart Learn
Basic information
Devart Learn is Devart's official hosted MCP server for its documentation. It gives AI assistants semantic search over the docs and knowledge sources for dbForge, dotConnect, dbExpress, Excel Add-ins and other Devart products, returning cited chunks with source URLs. No sign-in or API key is required.
https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcpclaude mcp add devart-learn --transport http https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcpPerform semantic search in the documentation and other knowledge sources and return the most relevant chunks for a given query. A chunk is a self-contained snippet of text from a single page and includes its source URL, title, product name, content type, and markdown content. Chunks are returned in descending order of relevance. If the knowledge sources do not contain relevant information, returned chunks may be weakly related or unrelated.
Returns the complete list of all product names available in the knowledge base. Use this to discover valid product names before filtering search results.
Devart Learn MCP Server is Devart's official hosted MCP server that lets AI assistants search the documentation and knowledge sources for Devart products such as dbForge, dotConnect and dbExpress. It is open to anonymous clients and needs no sign-in or API key.
Devart makes database development tools, data connectivity components and integration products for SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and many cloud data sources. Instead of switching to a browser and guessing search keywords, you ask a question in plain language and the assistant pulls the relevant passages from Devart's docs, each with its source URL, title and product name.
The server runs at a single public Streamable HTTP endpoint:
https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp
Devart notes that this URL is not a regular web page: opening it in a browser shows an error, which is expected. There is nothing to install and no credentials to configure.

Devart Learn is listed in the Claude Connectors Directory. Open Settings > Connectors, search for "Devart Learn" and click Connect. Then enable it for a conversation from the "+" button next to the message box under Connectors. You can also add it as a custom connector with the URL above.
Add an entry to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"devart-learn": {
"url": "https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
Add the server to .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"devart-learn": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
For other MCP clients, paste the same URL into the client's MCP or connector settings.
The server exposes two tools:
get_devart_product_names returns the complete list of product names available in the knowledge base. The assistant calls it first when it needs a valid product name to narrow a search, for example "dbForge Studio for PostgreSQL" or "dotConnect for Oracle".search_devart_knowledge_sources runs a semantic search across the documentation and other knowledge sources and returns the most relevant chunks in descending order of relevance. If nothing relevant exists, the chunks may be weakly related, so the assistant should check the sources it gets back.get_devart_product_names and restrict the search to the exact product you use; the search can return weakly related chunks when the docs don't cover a question./api/mcp.Yes. Devart documents the `https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp` endpoint in its own support knowledge base and lists Devart Learn in the Claude Connectors Directory.
No. The server accepts anonymous connections, so you only need the URL.
There is no sign-up, key or license step, and Devart does not list a charge for the documentation server. Devart's products themselves have their own licensing.
No. Devart Learn only searches Devart's documentation and knowledge sources. Devart sells separate MCP Server products that connect AI tools to your data through its ODBC drivers.
The knowledge base includes Devart product lines such as dbForge, dotConnect, dbExpress, Excel Add-ins, Entity Developer, EntityDAC and Code Compare. Call `get_devart_product_names` for the current full list.
Yes. Any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers can connect with the URL; the setup snippets above show each client's standard format.
The Devart Learn remote MCP server is a hosted Model Context Protocol endpoint at https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp, so AI assistants can connect to it without installing or running anything locally.
Add the endpoint https://chatbot.devart.com/api/mcp to any MCP-compatible client such as Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code. The setup snippets on this page configure each client in one step.
Authentication requirements for Devart Learn have not been confirmed in this listing. Check the provider’s documentation before connecting.
Devart Learn exposes a streamable-http endpoint, the transport used by remote MCP servers and supported by all major MCP clients.
