Overview

What is Defi Copilot?

Defi Copilot is a Stellar-native DeFi intelligence layer that lets AI agents autonomously query DeFi data, execute swaps, and interact with DeFi protocols β€” paying per request using the x402 protocol. No API keys or subscriptions are needed, and no human approval is required.

How to use Defi Copilot?

Install the MCP server via npx -y defi-copilot-mcp and add it to Claude Desktop or any MCP-compatible client. Use the REST API at https://api.fxjrin.com with any HTTP client. Set the STELLAR_NETWORK environment variable to testnet or mainnet; the DEFI_COPILOT_API defaults to the live backend unless you run your own.

Key features of Defi Copilot

  • Pay-per-request using the x402 protocol
  • Live on-chain yield data from Blend Finance (Soroban)
  • Optimal swap route comparison across SDEX, Stellar DEX, and AMM
  • Automatic Stellar wallet creation and funding on testnet
  • Free tools for swap execution, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers
  • Wallet stored locally; private keys never leave your device

Use cases of Defi Copilot

  • An AI agent asks where to deposit USDC and receives a recommended yield strategy with live APY
  • An agent finds the best swap route to exchange XLM for USDC and pays the fee automatically
  • An agent deposits USDC into Blend Finance and later withdraws principal plus interest
  • A developer queries live XLM price, volume, and spread without manual payment handling
  • An agent transfers XLM or USDC to any Stellar address using natural language commands

FAQ from Defi Copilot

How does payment work for Defi Copilot?

The server returns a 402 Payment Required response. The agent builds and signs a Stellar USDC transaction, sends it as an x-payment header, and the facilitator verifies and settles on-chain before returning the data.

Which assets does Defi Copilot support?

The yield and swap endpoints support USDC and XLM. The get_best_yield tool defaults to USDC; swap can be configured with from and to parameters.

Can I use Defi Copilot on mainnet or only testnet?

Both. Set STELLAR_NETWORK to mainnet in the environment. On mainnet the wallet is created but not auto-funded β€” you must deposit XLM manually. Payments also settle on mainnet via x402.

Where is my wallet stored when using Defi Copilot?

The MCP server saves the wallet locally in ~/.defi-copilot/wallet-testnet.json (or wallet-mainnet.json). Private keys never leave your device.

What is the cost per request for Defi Copilot?

get_best_yield and get_best_swap each cost 0.001 USDC via x402. All other tools (execute swap, deposit, withdraw, transfer, market data, etc.) are free.
