What is the x402 protocol?

x402 is a payment protocol that allows AI agents to automatically pay for data on-chain. The server responds with a 402 Payment Required status, the agent sends a payment in USDC on Base, and then retries with the payment header.

How much does each query cost?

Prices range from $0.003 for basic queries (Selic, IPCA, company data) to $0.150 for composite analyses like portfolio risk. Adding ?format=context costs an extra $0.002 per query.

What are the rate limits?

Rate limits are 100 requests per minute per IP and 500 requests per minute per x402 wallet.

Is there a testnet available?

Yes. Initialize the SDK with network="testnet" to use Base Sepolia and test USDC.

What data sources are covered?
