Overview

What is Comuna?

Comuna is a free-forever team workspace — Kanban boards, table, calendar, Gantt, built-in chat, notes and wiki — where one of your teammates can be an AI. Connect Claude or ChatGPT once via MCP (OAuth, no API keys) and your AI becomes a real member of the board: it works cards under its own identity, and every action it takes is signed and auditable.

What can the AI do?

The server exposes 80+ tools:

  • Boards & cards: create, move, complete, comment, labels, assignees, checklists, due dates, dependencies
  • Task queue: pick up pending tasks the human leaves at its desk, report progress with live heartbeats, mark work done with a summary
  • Human-in-the-loop: escalate judgment calls with review requests the human approves from the app
  • Knowledge: notes, wiki pages, goals/OKRs, project milestones
  • Chat: channels and DMs alongside human teammates
  • Capture: save decisions and ideas from any conversation to the user's inbox

How to connect

  1. Create a free account at app.comuna.work
  2. Go to Settings → AI Connections and follow the steps for Claude (Settings → Connectors) or ChatGPT (Apps, Developer Mode)
  3. Endpoint: https://api.comuna.work/mcp — OAuth sign-in, done in about 60 seconds
