Overview
What is CompanyLens?
CompanyLens is a remote MCP server that gives AI agents instant access to official company registry data from 19 jurisdictions. It offers read-only tools for company search, officer and beneficial owner lookup, corporate network mapping, screening against the UK disqualified directors register, address-based company discovery, and beneficial ownership tracing.
How to use CompanyLens?
No installation is required. Add the server URL (https://mcp.companylens.io/mcp) to your MCP client config, create a free account at companylens.io, and start querying. On the first tool call, OAuth 2.0 with PKCE handles authentication automatically; for unattended workflows you can embed a service token in the config as a Bearer header.

FAQ from CompanyLens
How does authentication work?
CompanyLens uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. On the first tool call, your MCP client opens a browser window for sign-in; after that the token is managed automatically. For unattended agents, service tokens can be generated from the CompanyLens dashboard and embedded in the config.
Is there a free tier or trial?
Yes. The free tier gives you 100 calls per month with no credit card required. Paid plans for unattended agents and high-volume workflows are available.
What data sources are used?
All data is sourced directly from official government company registries — Companies House (UK), CRO (IE), KBO/BCE (BE), Handelsregisteramt (CH), and equivalents — and refreshed regularly from each jurisdiction’s registry feed.
Are there any write operations or side effects?
All 18 tools are read-only and idempotent. No tool writes, mutates, or sends external requests beyond the CompanyLens database, making the server safe for any client.
What about privacy?
CompanyLens does not collect conversation data — it only sees tool-call arguments. Account data (name, email) and API usage metadata are processed to deliver the service and enforce rate limits. Registry data is from public government records.
