Overview
What is Claude Code Organizer?
Claude Code Organizer is a visual dashboard for managing Claude Code memories, skills, MCP servers, and hooks. It scans the ~/.claude/ directory, shows items organized by scope hierarchy (Global, Workspace, Project), and lets you move items between scopes via drag-and-drop. It is for users who want to fix misplaced customizations without editing files manually.
How to use Claude Code Organizer?
Run npx @mcpware/claude-code-organizer (no install) or install globally with npm install -g @mcpware/claude-code-organizer and then run claude-code-organizer. The tool opens a dashboard at http://localhost:3847 that works with your real ~/.claude/ directory. No configuration files need to be edited.
Key features of Claude Code Organizer
- Scope-aware hierarchy with inheritance indicators
- Drag-and-drop moves between scopes with confirmation modal
- Same-type safety (memories to memory folders, skills to skill folders, etc.)
- Search and filter by category (Memory, Skills, MCP, Config, Hooks, Plugins, Plans)
- Detail panel showing full metadata, file path, and open-in-VS Code
- Zero dependencies (pure Node.js built-in modules, SortableJS via CDN)
Use cases of Claude Code Organizer
- Move a project-specific memory to global scope when it should apply everywhere
- Move a global skill into a project scope so only that repo sees it
- View every memory, skill, and MCP server across all scopes at a glance
- Fix misplaced items that Claude saved to the wrong scope
FAQ from Claude Code Organizer
What runtime does Claude Code Organizer require?
Node.js 20 or higher. It has zero external dependencies and uses only built-in modules plus a CDN-loaded SortableJS.
Where does Claude Code Organizer read and write data?
It reads and writes directly to your ~/.claude/ directory. Moves actually relocate files on disk; it is not a viewer.
Can I move any type of item between any scopes?
No. Same-type safety is enforced: memories can only move to memory folders, skills to skill folders, and MCP servers to MCP configs. Config, hooks, plugins, and plans are viewable but locked.
How does Claude Code Organizer compare to other tools?
Unlike alternatives such as claude-control (read-only) or claude-admin (no cross-scope moves), it supports drag-and-drop moves between scopes and manages memories, skills, and MCP servers together.
Is Claude Code Organizer available for Windows?
Not yet. Ubuntu/Linux is officially supported. macOS and WSL should work but are untested.
