salesforce-mcp-server-by-cdata is a read-only Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows LLMs like Claude Desktop to query live Salesforce data using natural language. It wraps the CData JDBC Driver for Salesforce, which exposes Salesforce data as relational SQL models.
Clone the repository, build with Maven (mvn clean install), install and license the CData JDBC Driver for Salesforce, create a .prp configuration file with your JDBC connection string, then add the server to your Claude Desktop config (claude_desktop_config.json) using a java -jar command. Run or refresh Claude Desktop to access the tools.

You need Java (to run the JAR), Maven (to build), and the CData JDBC Driver for Salesforce installed and licensed on your machine.
The server uses `stdio` transport, so it can only be used with clients running on the same machine as the server.
No local data storage. The server queries live Salesforce data directly through the JDBC driver; all data remains in Salesforce.
Authentication is handled via the JDBC connection string builder. For OAuth-based sources, you will need to authenticate in your browser during connection setup.
Read public Instagram profiles and post feeds by handle in Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. Get follower counts, captions, hashtags, mentions, and engagement counts as structured JSON.
