A guide to get a remote MCP server up-and-running on Cloudflare Workers complete with OAuth login, designed for developers who want to host and connect MCP tools remotely.
Clone the repository, install dependencies, and run locally with npx nx dev remote-mcp-server. Deploy to Cloudflare by creating an OAUTH_KV namespace with npx wrangler kv namespace create OAUTH_KV, adding the namespace ID to wrangler.jsonc, then running npm run deploy. Connect clients via the MCP Inspector at the /sse endpoint or configure Claude Desktop with a mcp-remote proxy.
mcp-remote proxyworkers.dev subdomainIt provides a complete setup to run a remote MCP server on Cloudflare Workers with OAuth login, including local development, deployment, and client connection instructions.
Create an `OAUTH_KV` namespace with `npx wrangler kv namespace create OAUTH_KV`, add the namespace ID to `wrangler.jsonc`, and run `npm run deploy`.
Update Claude Desktop's config file to use `npx mcp-remote` with the Workers SSE URL (e.g., `https://worker-name.account-name.workers.dev/sse`) and restart Claude.
Run `npx nx dev remote-mcp-server`, then use the MCP Inspector at `http://localhost:8787/sse` to connect and test tools.
Restart Claude, try connecting directly with `npx mcp-remote http://localhost:8787/sse`, or clear the auth files in `~/.mcp-auth` with `rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth`.
