This server lets you deploy a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on Cloudflare Workers without requiring authentication. It is intended for developers who need a publicly accessible MCP endpoint for AI tools and model interactions, and it can be customized with your own tool definitions.
Deploy via the Cloudflare Workers button or run npm create cloudflare@latest -- my-mcp-server --template=cloudflare/ai/demos/remote-mcp-authless. Customize tools in src/index.ts inside the init() method using this.server.tool(...). Connect to the server from the Cloudflare AI Playground by entering its SSE URL, or from Claude Desktop by configuring the mcp-remote proxy in Claude’s settings.
Click the “Deploy to Workers” button in the README or run `npm create cloudflare` with the provided template. You must have a Cloudflare account and optionally npm installed.
Inside `src/index.ts`, use `this.server.tool(name, schema, handler)` in the `init()` method. The server will serve those tools over SSE.
Go to https://playground.ai.cloudflare.com/, enter your deployed SSE URL (e.g., `remote-mcp-server-authless.<your-account>.workers.dev/sse`), and start using your tools.
Use the `mcp-remote` npm proxy. In Claude Desktop’s settings, add an `mcpServers` entry with `command: "npx"` and `args: ["mcp-remote", "http://localhost:8787/sse"]` (or your remote URL). Restart Claude to see the tools.
A Cloudflare Workers account and Node.js/npm for local development. The server itself runs on Cloudflare’s edge runtime; no other dependencies are listed in the README.
